What I Eat in a Day!

Food and I used to have a real love-hate relationship. Anyone feel me on this? I’ve seen and done it all when it comes to diet fads and workout trends. Don’t hear me wrong, what you work for will work for you. But you gotta find YOUR groove. What I really mean is there is no RIGHT way to fit. Keto, paleo, low carb, you choose. Then stick with it. Truthfully I hate the word “diet” it sounds so depriving! But I’ll tell you how I’ve spent hours and hours trying to get results in the gym, come to realize abs are made in the kitchen.👏🏻🤪

I’m still cooking mine...stay tuned!

My favorite way I’ve found to really tailor my daily nutrition is by counting my Macros! Let me start with telling you I am by no means a licensed professional. This is coming from a busy mama of two-and is more about mindset than recipes and diets. Basically when you become conscious of your macros, you begin tracking your protein-fat-and carbohydrate intake. There is a lot more that goes into this, and it’s not a set and forget kind of regimen. Below I’ll share what I eat however you have to know that you need to listen to YOUR body and what it needs. Just the same way you can do the same things that someone else in a business setting is doing, and get the same results. Applies just the same in the kitchen and gym 🙌🏼 your metabolism, body type, and physical abilities make the game different for you than anyone else in the world. Common theme on the Brandi Raines Beauty blog...YOU are different-worthy-and LOVED just as you are.  But if you’re still interested in creating the best physical version of you here on earth, keep reading. 💗💃🏻

In late 2019 is when I truly learned about counting macros and what that meant. Casey and I were getting ready to go on a cruise in January 2020 that my company Younique offered for our hard work! The year prior in Mexico is when I realized, I didn’t love how my body looked. Not to say I didn’t love myself-because my worth is never determined by earthly-physical things. I just knew I could do better, and be better. Especially having two kids looking up to me, and learning through my every move (or lack there of). A friend I met at the One Life fitness center who just so happened to work there as a personal trainer-truly helped me understand my body and what it needs to work at optimum potential. She taught me that carbs are not a bad thing, and that muscle needs to be nourished in order to grow. AKA you gotta eat baby! Weight loss and muscle gain won’t happen from eating less in the long run, because you’d be neglecting your metabolism and not feeding those muscles!

She helped me tailor my daily intake but taking my weight and height, body fat percentage, and daily activity all into consideration. Remember how I said earlier- this cannot be a set it and forget it! Your body will change as you start into this lifestyle change. (YES you read right-lifestyle change means longevity). If you lose it quick-you’ll gain just as fast and vice versa. Stick with me I promise you can still enjoy life, and occasional ice cream still! As you begin building more muscle, shedding body fat, and boosting metabolism your body may require more or less of different types of food!

The BIG key for success with this is mindset. Gone are the days where I do a 30 day challenge and fall off. I’m here and here to stay honey! 👏🏻

I eat the same thing daily-with a weekly cheat MEAL (not to be confused with day😅). My trainer helps me monitor my results each week by weigh ins and progress pictures. She will edit my nutrition as needed, and encourage me. I believe having a trainer or workout partner helps because accountability is sometimes the only thing that keeps me going on days I am lacking “motivation”. It comes by choice not naturally friends! As you read what I eat in a day I urge you to remember this is a journey NOT a race. There are many different ways to get the results you want. It’s gonna take discipline, TIME, and consistency. You don’t have to be intense with workouts and diets. Splurging occasional does NOT negate your hard work and tomorrow is a new day to show back up for your goals. I’ll promise you if you can change your mindset to realize this is the only body we get here on earth, it’s up to us to take care of it. Strive for the days you’ll feel more confident and have more energy....not because a number on a scale. But because each day you’ll have accomplishments to be proud of! Stay tuned for my daily workouts coming soon!

💜

Love always,

Brandi

I’m sure I sound like an idiot, but what are macros and I can follow what I’m told to do, easily but I can’t afford a trainer/nutritionist. I’m not over weight, need to regain the awesome muscle I had before I got hit by a car. Thanks Brandi..girl..luv ya..ur the best

What is the name of the mustard sauce ? Thank you for sharing what you eat in a day. Does your trainer calculate your macros or do you that yourself??
