Balancing it All

Let’s preficit with I have had “The blessing” by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes on repeat for several hours. This blog post has been in the works for weeks. Perfectly planned because I have truly had to lean into learning how to “balance it all” the last few months.

One thing I believe is important for us all to take into account is that: Self control is strength. Learning to find calmness in your situations is a true mastery. We have to learn how to find that point where our mood isn’t shifted based on insignificant actions, hard circumstances, harsh opinions, and stressful scenarios. When we do this, when we learn to keep composite while navigating we gain control of our own lives. It’s allowing our minds, and truth of what we know to overpower our emotional state.

To gain more backstory on me personally I encourage you to watch my earlier blog posts. They’ll paint a picture that allows you to learn me more, to take a peak at my heart. As a wife, mom, and successful business owner there is no doubt I have found the equation in life that allows me to operate at a high level but continue staying committed to my highest priorities. It’s taken years to get here and I’d like to share a thought I feel really helped me.

My husband and I met in our early 20’s and fell into a deep connection I am proud to say we still have. We became parents to both or spunky children within 2 years of knowing each other. We went from long weekend road trips, and late night conversations in random parking lots to diaper changes and full on careers nearly overnight. Quickly learning that we need to identify what our biggest priorities were, so that we may organize our thoughts and days to surround those FIRST. Not long after having our daughter I started my online beauty business. It was never a hobby to me. There has always been a big vision for this. I’d be lying to you, if I said we didn’t have sacrifice in the beginning to get it going that affected us. We endured a few seasons that took a toll on us, however I can genuinely say I learned through each situation….. “How to balance it all.”

It boils down to identifying what is most important to you in life. I’ve heard it referred to as “glass balls”. Identifying yours will allow you to make sure you keep them afloat amidst all the chaos life throws. Physically writing them out , and making a plan for your days, months, and years with these at the front of your mind. It makes sure what’s most important to you is taken care, then allows you to delegate your time to the rest according to how important it may be to you.

The other part of this is the idea of “managing stress”. A concept that’s always been hard for me to grasp. Over the last few years I feel like i have grown in my faith and my capability of coping with stress! God is first and foremost who I bring stressful situations to. It can be easy to be reactive when it comes to stress. As human beings we naturally want to act on emotions with the first thing that pops in our mind. When we can take a step back, and pray on it. Allow ourselves to take a moment and see all sides of what we are facing. Remove the thoughts of being the victim, and try to see what the outcome we desire is we are able to handle it in a way that isn’t as overwhelming.

We aren’t meant to have all the answers, or to be able to handle every little thing in our lives ALL the time. But we can be so much more efficient with our time and energy when we decide to be more intentional. I’m no saint, and if I am honest I struggle daily with all of this. We all do! As we walk through life, let’s remember that even those we see that have it all together truly do not. They’re doing the best they can, that’s what you should strive for too. As I grow as a wife, mama, and business owner I believe the best thing I can do to continue “growth” in all areas is focus on what I shared with you above. I’ll never be perfect, and I’m thankful God didn’t make me to be.

Thanks for reading friend. However this finds you, I’m praying it helps you in some sort of way today! XO Brandi Raines
